The captain, the photographer, and our setup team are the only people involved — and the team is gone before you arrive. The captain knows when to slow the boat, when to stop in front of the Eiffel Tower, and when to stay quiet.
We run boat proposals year-round, including short-notice bookings. We regularly confirm proposals 48 hours out when the date and vessel are available. The sooner you reach out, the more flexibility you have on time slots and vessel choice — but we have the experience to make it work fast when you need us to.

How a private boat proposal works
You board a private boat on the Seine, already set up with silk flowers, music, and your photographer on board — we handle the preparation before you arrive.
01
We set up the boat
Our team arrives at the dock before you do. Silk flowers go along the deck railing, the speaker is positioned, candles are placed, and any add-ons — champagne, a rose bouquet, a musician — are prepped and in position. The photographer is briefed on your plan, your preferred angles, and the timing.
02
You board and propose
We meet you near the boarding point about 10–15 minutes before departure for a quick briefing. Your partner sees the décor as they step on. The captain departs. Your playlist is already playing. The cruise passes directly in front of the Eiffel Tower — the captain slows the boat and holds position while you ask the question. The photographer is shooting the entire time: the approach, the reaction, the celebration.
01
You step off and celebrate
After the cruise, the photographer delivers a final set of candid shots on the riverbank with the city behind you. Then you leave for dinner — or head back to your hotel. We handle the strike: flowers, speakers, everything comes off the boat without you thinking about it.
What the cruise looks like
A private cruise on the Seine passing directly in front of the Eiffel Tower, with décor, music, and photographer already on board.
Route and timing
Private Boat route: Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Louvre, Pont des Arts. Up to 1h30. A 2-hour extended option adds Quai Henri IV and Jardin des Plantes.
Private Champagne Yacht route: Eiffel Tower, Pont Alexandre III, Musée d’Orsay, Louvre, Notre-Dame, Île Saint-Louis, Statue of Liberty (on the return). 1h45.
Evening cruises can be timed to the Eiffel Tower’s hourly sparkle display, which runs for five minutes on the hour after nightfall. We help you pick the right departure time based on your date and sunset. Winter evenings mean earlier sunsets and earlier sparkle — which can work in your favor.
Departure docks are not disclosed in client-facing copy. Boarding details are sent after booking.
The captain’s role
The captain knows the route, the timing, and the angles. They slow the boat in front of the Tower when you are ready, hold position for photos, and stay quiet during the proposal. This is coordinated in advance with your photographer and our team.
Décor and sound
Silk flowers are arranged around the deck railing on both vessels. The speaker is set for the couple, not the whole river. The photographer moves around the boat throughout — posed shots, candid shots, and the reaction.
Weather, comfort, and the river
The Seine is flat water, not open sea. The ride is smooth and seasickness is not a concern. The Private Boat is an open-deck setup with no shelter. The Private Champagne Yacht has partial cover for the ride, but the proposal setup itself is on the open deck.
Evening cruises on the river are cooler than in the city. A jacket or wrap is worth having, especially from October through April. We monitor forecasts and can shift the timing earlier or later to work around rain. When that is not possible, we discuss alternatives: rescheduling, switching to an indoor or covered option, or going ahead. Light rain on the Seine often produces strong, dramatic photos. You are never charged for a cruise that does not take place due to unsafe conditions — the captain makes the final call on safety.
Which boat is right for you?
The Private Boat is intimate and our most popular package. The Private Champagne Yacht is EIP’s flagship — a heritage yacht with Ruinart champagne, a private attendant, and room for live musicians.

Add room décor, dinner, or an elopement
Most couples pair a boat proposal with hotel room décor — the room is set up while you are on the water, so you walk in and it is ready.
Hotel room décor is the most common complement, not an alternative. While you are on the Seine, our team is at your hotel setting up champagne, roses, a teddy bear with a handwritten note, and Ladurée macarons. You walk off the boat, head to dinner or straight to the hotel, and the surprise continues. Both setups are coordinated as one project — the timing runs together.
If you are planning an elopement ceremony at a different location — a rooftop, a garden, a private venue — and want a boat cruise as part of the day, we handle both setups together.

FAQ: Private Boat Proposal in Paris
How much does a private boat proposal cost in Paris?
The Private Boat starts at €1,600 and includes up to 1h30 on the water, silk flowers, a custom playlist, and a 60-minute photographer. The Private Champagne Yacht starts at €3,500 and includes 1h45 on a heritage wooden yacht with Ruinart champagne, a private attendant, silk florals, playlist, and a 60-minute photographer. Add-ons like a live violinist (from €375), videographer (€500), or rose bouquet (€180) are priced separately — see the full add-on list on the packages page.
Is the boat completely private?
Yes. No shared tours, no other guests. On the Private Boat the only people on board are you, your partner, the captain, and the photographer. On the Private Champagne Yacht, a private attendant serves champagne throughout, and a live musician can join if you add one.
How is this different from a dinner cruise or Bateaux Mouches?
Completely different. A Bateaux Mouches or large dinner cruise is a shared tourist boat with fixed schedules, hundreds of other passengers, set menus, and no privacy. A private boat proposal is yours alone — a decorated private deck, your own photographer, your playlist, and a captain who stops the boat in front of the Eiffel Tower when you are ready. We do not recommend proposing on a shared dinner cruise. The privacy, the décor, and the control over timing are what make a boat proposal work.
Can you time the proposal for the Eiffel Tower sparkle?
Yes. The Eiffel Tower sparkle runs for five minutes on the hour after nightfall. We help you pick the right departure time so the boat is in front of the Tower at the right point. Evening cruises are specifically routed for this. The captain holds position while you propose and the photographer shoots. Winter sunsets come earlier, which means the sparkle starts earlier too — we adjust the schedule to match.
What happens if it rains or river conditions are unsafe?
We monitor forecasts closely and can shift timing earlier or later to work around rain. The Private Boat has no shelter — it is an open deck. The Private Champagne Yacht has partial cover for the ride, but the proposal setup itself is on the open deck. When weather makes the cruise unsafe or impractical, we discuss alternatives: rescheduling to another date, switching to a covered option, or adjusting the plan. Light rain on the Seine often makes for dramatic, strong photos. You are never charged for a cruise that does not take place due to unsafe conditions — the captain makes the final call on safety.
Can I add a live musician on the boat?
On the Private Champagne Yacht, yes. Violin, guitar, and saxophone fit on board — and there is space for a duo (e.g. violin + guitar). The musician arrives early, boards with the setup team, and performs during the cruise. The Private Boat does not have space for a musician — your custom playlist on a premium speaker provides the music instead.
Can I have a photographer and videographer at the same time?
On the Private Champagne Yacht, yes — there is enough space for both, even alongside a musician. On the Private Boat, it is one or the other. The deck is compact, and during evening proposals the lighting associate also needs to be on board. If video is a priority, we can arrange a videographer instead of a photographer on the Private Boat, or you can choose the Private Champagne Yacht to have both.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner you reach out, the better the availability in terms of time slots and vessel choice, and we can plan without a rush. That said, we are one of the most experienced teams in Paris for this and we regularly handle short-notice bookings. We have confirmed boat proposals 48 hours out when the date and vessel are available. Reach out on WhatsApp and we confirm fast.
Where do we board the boat?
Boarding points vary depending on the vessel. After booking, we send the exact location on Google Maps, walking directions, and a WhatsApp timing briefing. We meet you near the dock 10–15 minutes before departure. The cruise route centres on stopping in front of the Eiffel Tower for the proposal and photos — that is the centrepiece of the experience.
Is photography included, and what do I receive?
Yes. A 60-minute photographer is included in all boat packages. The photographer is on board for the full ride. Your photographer delivers an unedited gallery via a secure link within 24 hours. You select 20 images for professional retouching — delivered within 7 days of your selection. The photographer covers the approach, the reaction, and portraits with the Eiffel Tower and the Paris skyline. The photographer knows when to stay back and when to come closer. Add a videographer (€500) on the Private Champagne Yacht for a short highlight reel.
